Another great day with Bantry AthleticClub and the Mealagh Valley Community
Fantastic day today in the Mealagh – great buzz, great competition and great grub Well done to all involved – both organisers and participants.As usual we got lucky with the weather and had some lovely sunshine after a bitter start to the day. We were delighted to welcome all those who travelled to compete in what has been described as the toughest 10 miler in the country but of course we are especially proud of our home winner Alan O’Shea, Bantry AC. It was great to see all the young people from Coláiste Pobal Bheanntraí out and active, remembering their friend Rachel along with the footballers from St Colums taking on a very tough cross valley 5k. The treasure hunt was a big hit with the u12s. It appears that between the three events, the catering, stewarding and general supporting almost everyone from the Mealagh took part today.What a great community. Go raibh fada buan sibh!
